Does anyone know anything about the BGAN service?
This sounds good for disaster operation. But, what is the down side and the weakness? It may be so new no one knows? From the Inmarsat-4 site: http://countdown.inmarsat.com/bgan/default.aspx?top_level_id=31&language=EN&textonly=False "The first new service to be launched on the Inmarsat-4 satellites will be BGAN - Broadband Global Area Network - for Enterprise customers." "BGAN will be the world's first mobile communications service to deliver broadband data and voice, simultaneously, through a single, truly portable device, anywhere on the planet. It will also be the first mobile communications service to offer guaranteed data rates on demand." "These unique innovations will enable BGAN to extend the boundaries of the broadband mobile office that 3G cellular services are beginning to deliver, positioning it alongside the world's most advanced digital mobile services." -- Jerry Hubbard [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ CWE-LUG mailing list [email protected] http://www.cwelug.org/ http://www.cwelug.org/archives/ http://www.cwelug.org/mailinglist/
