What options are you using to boot?

Quite possible, especially if the CD-ROM drive is an older one.  If  
you have a newer CD-ROM burner available, create an ISO from the CD  
then burn a new CD, burning at the slowest speed possible, usually <8x.

As for a checksum:

   1188f67d48c9f11afb8572977ef74c5e *KNOPPIX_V4.0.2CD-2005-09-23-EN.iso

from:
