I am not sure what is causing the message to go out as an encapsulated message. Sendmail did not report a problem or that it did that on my messages to the list. I can't see anything in Google about this issue wrt Sendmail or Thunderbird. Also, nothing was apparent in TBird bug tracking (about outgoing emails)
It might only be me, though since others would have reported the problem. And it has always worked in the past. I recently upgraded to TBird 1.5. It seemed to start happening after that. This seems to concern forwarded emails as attachments, but it only happened to me on replys (to Tony's Knoppix MD5 sum) and new posts.
