All, Would anyone be able to bring a projector to the Hazelwood LUG meeting Tuesday evening (tomorrow)? The one Jim Roe brought last month sure made a great difference on what we covered. I haven't heard back from him this month.
I would like to do a very quick demo of OpenOffice.org BASE before we go on to other things. Carl Fitch plans to cover Boot Loaders. Both of these items really require the use of a video projector. Some of the Linux newcomers have already suggest a pot load of topics. So what follows the demo is not certain (or even if we have a demo). If we don't have use of a projector we will fall back onto general chalk board use for our discussion. Suggestions included: Disk partitioning, different ways to run Linux and Windows on the same machine, boot sector loaders [our main topic if we have a projector], operating system file types, swap-able hard drives, PC sound card configuration, sound applications and sound file formats, and the downloading and installation of Linux drivers. stan r. > ----------------------------------------------- > Tuesday - 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM > > HZWLUG - Hazelwood Linux Users Group > http://hzwlug.sluug.org/ > > ** For the Newcomers to Linux ** > LAB Setup and Unstructured Time - 6:30pm > Welcome, Introduction & Admin - 7:00pm > Questions and Answer Period - 7:10pm > > DEMO: OpenOffice.org BASE (Database) > TOPICS: Boot Managers by Carl Fitch > > Prairie Commons Branch Library > 915 Utz Lane (between Howdershell and Dunn) > Hazelwood, MO 63042 > _______________________________________________ CWE-LUG mailing list [email protected] http://www.cwelug.org/ http://www.cwelug.org/archives/ http://www.cwelug.org/mailinglist/
