Here are my notes for installing CentOS 4.2 over the Internet using Knoppix 4.2:

It makes a few assumptions: - the machine can boot Knoppix - the machine is connected to a network via ethernet - the network uses DHCP - there is only one hard drive - that drive is the master on the primary IDE bus - the drive will only contain CentOS The kickstart script does a minimal install, but after that you can yum install everything else.
