And then there's the companion program, scriptreplay.  From the man  
page:  "This program replays a typescript, using timing information  
to ensure that output happens at the same speed as it originally  
appeared when the script was recorded."

Here's a sample under Knoppix 4.0.2:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] script -t 2> my.script
Script started, file is typescript
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ps faux
  ...
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ls -la
  ...
[EMAIL PROTECTED] exit
Script done, file is typescript
[EMAIL PROTECTED] scriptreplay my.script

It's like a text-based version of screencasting.
