Wits is trying to do this with win2k and bob and I failed to get it to work last weekend. We used partimage because --unlike dd--it does not image empty space. So after restoring a 4 gig partition which was only a 1.5G file into a larger partition all the data was fine. we used qtparted to resize the 4G partition up to the 9 gigs available. the problem was we could not get it to boot. The ntboot loader seemed to be missing. I think the bootloader goes into the first sector of the windows partition. correct? perhaps partimage did not back that up. There is an option called * restore MBR from partition but we're not sure what that does. I told bob to try it again and use that option. - -- JT Morée PC Xperience, Inc. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.1 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFEDuzGucZ4lMT2d5IRAvSQAJ4+asxlVWE8OgxnrQXm90IMJurznQCfaS// xOoQsnNKLt7ckr+aYHVyO/o= =mVDi -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
