I'm still a bit fuzzy on the details. Is Xgl a replacement X- server? That is, instead of running XFree86 or xorg, you'd run Xgl. From the screenshots it looks like Xgl allows you to create this "cube" or do transparency. Those aren't really features that I need. Is there something more?
