I wouldn't. But I think the answer is not that a remote application be the only option, but rather have it as another option. Just like having e-mail accessible via the web and an e-mail client. Neither is perfect. I can't access the web e-mail from a plane and I cannot send e-mail when I'm in a library or client's office. So it would be nice to be able to type a document and save it on my USB stick. Just a bummer that it's Word. > Also, has anyone looked into what the company behind the AJAX app is > doing with your potentially confidential documents? I don't put anything confidential on anything that's a web service, unless it's via a VPN to my company. For example, I use gmail and don't send confidential stuff through them. But then I don't send anything that's confidential via e-mail. > Note that Mozilla/Flash/Java/[insert flash-in-pan .com] were also > supposed to be *the* web platform... Agreed. We'll have to wait and see. Regards, - Robert http://www.cwelug.org/downloads Help others get OpenSource software.
