Found this on Digg and thought it might be an easier way to explain Linux distributions. This doesn't encompass all distributions, incorporate mergers, or historical timelines of distros. An example would be rpm based distros such as Mandriva and Redhat are from the same roots, but for simplicity, they are listed separately on the map.
