Thanks Jonathon,

turns out it is diald for Debian too. That leads to another question.

We are currently using kernel 2.4.27-2-386. However, the machine I am
loading up is a 686, as reported by
uname -m
i686

For consistency reasons, we want these drive images the same. Is there
anyway to set our apt-get sources.list to only request 386 versions of
stuff?
