Yup, tried Xubuntu-alternate-PPC.  Wouldn't completely boot in the G3  
-- insufficient RAM.  Worked just fine on my PBG4, so I'm fairly  
confident it's not the disk.  I was hoping to at least load enough of  
the kernel to wipe the drive and setup some swap, but no dice.
