Ubuntu 6.06 OpenBSD 3.8
Hi: I am having trouble configuring my GRUB boot loader to boot OpenBSD. First here is the relevant output from dmesg: [17179596.620000] usb-storage: device scan complete [17179596.768000] Driver 'sd' needs updating - please use bus_type methods [17179596.784000] sd 1:0:0:0: Attached scsi removable disk sda [17179596.796000] sd 1:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg0 type 0 [17179597.088000] Vendor: ST380011 Model: A Rev: 8.01 [17179597.088000] Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 00 [17179597.088000] SCSI device sdb: 156301488 512-byte hdwr sectors (80026 MB) [17179597.088000] sdb: assuming drive cache: write through [17179597.088000] SCSI device sdb: 156301488 512-byte hdwr sectors (80026 MB) [17179597.088000] sdb: assuming drive cache: write through [17179597.088000] sdb: sdb4 [17179597.112000] sdb4: <openbsd: sdb5 sdb6 sdb7 sdb8 sdb9 sdb10 > [17179597.112000] sd 0:0:0:0: Attached scsi disk sdb Notice the line: "Driver 'sd' needs updating - please use bus_type methods" I don't know how to do this. Anyway here is what I have in my /boot/grub/menu.lst title OpenBSD root (/dev/sdb4,a) makeactive chainloader +1 ## ## End Default Options ## title Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.15-26-386 root (hd0,0) kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.15-26-386 root=/dev/hda1 ro quiet splash initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.15-26-386 savedefault boot <SNIP> when I boot I get a warning saying something about a bad number. In *BSD, the partitions are a,b,c and so on. Any advice would be appreciated. -- Kind regards, Jonathan _______________________________________________ CWE-LUG mailing list [email protected] http://www.cwelug.org/ http://www.cwelug.org/archives/ http://www.cwelug.org/mailinglist/
