OK, I'm about to rip my hair out over this one... On my church's website (Westport Community Church, located online at http://www.westportchurch.com), I'm trying to create M3U files (streaming MP3 files, that is) of recent sermons (no link for such on there yet, but once I figure this out, that'll be on there). It seems like I can do everything BUT my goal here, and that is to create an M3U file that has a bitrate of no more than about 20 kbps or so so that dialup users can hear them without their MP3 player constantly having to pause all the time. But try as I might, I cannot seem to do this! Here's the closest I've gotten so far:
With JuK, I can create an M3U file, but it doesn't offer the option to adjust the bitrate, leaving me with a 128kbps bitrate file, and I don't want that for the sake of dialup users. With Grip, I can create such a file of the bitrate I'm wanting, but then when I go to test it, NOT ONE of the audio players on my MEPIS box will play the darn thing! Not to mention, with Grip, I don't have the ability to name the file as I see fit, either. GRRRR!!!! Has anyone else here ever created a streaming MP3 file on Linux with the ability to adjust the bitrate and name the M3U file what YOU want it named? If so, what did you use? I've also been reading through the man pages for lame, and they don't cover the creation of streaming audio files, so those aren't of any help, either. I know that anything at all that can be done using KDE, Gnome, what have you, can be done from the command line, so I'm fine with using that too if that's my only option, but I can't even seem to find any help there, either. Any ideas?
