I filled it out at home while googling to find information on the candidates and measures. I then put it in the envelope and drove it to the board of elections, where I signed, sealed, and delivered it in front of an elections judge. I did all this last Saturday morning. Delivering my ballot in person took less than 8 minutes, the cost of a dime in a parking meter.
Voting absentee simplifies my life and ensures that I've voted the way I want to vote. No waiting in lines. No having to rush to vote either before or after work. No one hassling me about ID. No dealing with inclement weather. And best of all, voting absentee by-passes all the closed, super-secret non-sense of these electronic voting machines. Until they open the source on the boxes, absentee voting is my preferred way to vote.
