Hello all, Is there a way to autoconfigure Firefox to use an http-proxy?
At ByteWorks, all the browsers are configured for direct access to the web. This unfortunately means that when we instruct students to visit a website, they all hit the same website and download the same data at the same time, which slows everyone down. So, we recently set up squid to proxy http requests. Is there an easy way to tell all the browsers to now use the proxy server (e.g. via DHCP or DNS), or do we have to configure Firefox manually? A google search finds mostly pages explaining how to manually configure browsers to use a proxy, so I guessing it's a manual process.
