Cool stuff. You'll note he recommends Ruby and so do other commenters.
They also recommend Smalltalk (I.e. Squeak). Plus Logo, Toontalk, etc.

Fun stuff. I'd like to experiment w/a Ruby Logo graphic language. Did
you know that Ruby was originally called matzlisp (Matz is the nick of
ruby's author.) It was designed to be a more modern syntax for a
lisp-like language. Since Logo is derived from Lisp, adding the
graphic primatives to Ruby would be fun.
