I'm Assuming you don't have Linux binary compatibility installed.
the relevant part of my /etc/mk.conf
#display make target & current stack of packages being built.
SMART_MESSAGES=YES
MOZILLA_USE_LINUX=SET

NetBSD3.0 thou.
then I go install linux emulation, firefox-linux and then I normally
download the flash plugin from abode site. Hey Cecil,the FreeBSD
developers work hard to put together
nice easy to follow documenation to show how to setup Linux binary
compatibility.
http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/linuxemu.html

side-note: It is also reported that in some situations, Linux binaries
perform better on *BSD than they do under Linux. It's a heck of alot
faster than the native *BSD build of firefox and the abode reader as
well. i always run web browsers under linux emulation.
