Hello all, A few days ago I picked up several identical machines from WITS, all 1GHz PIII's with 256+ MB of RAM and 20+ GB HDDs. Most machines boot Knoppix 5.1.1 just fine. A few don't. If I use a Knoppix 5.1.1 CD, I can run memtest just fine (I usually stop it after 3 or 4 tests, which all pass). However, if I try to boot linux from the Knoppix CD, it starts to load the kernel and then reboots. No panic. No message. No beeps. The screen goes blank followed by the POST screen. I've tried each of the following boot options, all with the same result:
> knoppix > knoppix 3 > debug -b 1 > failsafe debug -b 1 Will try the Ultimate Boot CD in a bit. In the mean time, any thoughts as to what might be causing this behaviour?
