Cuil sucks. Have you really tried to use it? Blecch? As for Chrome, if you think it's just to gather data about users, you are really losing site of the forest for the trees.
Chrome is about creating a web-based platform for the growth of software on the Web. That's it. Once my book comes out, I'll point you guys to the chapter I wrote about Chrome & what Google is doing with it. In fact, if you did some research on Chrome, you'd find this: "Rakowski said that while the ID is created, it does not start sending information back to Google unless a person opts in to the tracking service.
