An interesting article on collective intelligence that relates to the debate about google on this list a two weeks ago. Some of the questions raised include: how do you protect privacy while taking advantage of new technologies? a set of principles based on common law to insure an individual's control over his/her data. is privacy a historical anomaly? imho, this is a classic case where govt regulation is necessary to preserve a balance between the utility of the technology and privacy concerns. ned --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Central West End Linux Users Group (via Google Groups) Main page: http://www.cwelug.org To post: [email protected] To subscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] More options: http://groups.google.com/group/cwelug -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
