Ctrl-t is a Firefox-specific (or other application-specific) command. There is a list of common commands that should be universal (beginning around 1982 or so):
Ctrl-o = open Ctrl-w = close Ctrl-q = quit Ctrl-c = copy Ctrl-v = paste Ctrl-x = cut ... and so on, for a definite set of commands that should be universal to all apps (but may not be). If a command is not on that list (tabs were not invented when the list was created), then there are no guarantees, even on a Mac (where standards used to be much more rigorously enforced). In an app without tabs, such as Nautilus, Ctrl-t is available for whatever you want it to be. I'm accustomed to cmd-delete to move something to the trash, so I'm not comfortable with Ctrl-t for trash. That was a Nautilus decision. --Don Ellis On Wed, Dec 17, 2008 at 10:22 AM, Mike Bigalke <[email protected]> wrote: > > But should Firefox set the rules or should Gnome?
