cat < /dev/ttys0        solved that for me.  When I touch the screen I get a
lot of noise via cat in a terminal.

Also, I was reading someone else's travails with Elo Intellitouch capacitive
screen on serial ports where the writer had multiple screens on one computer
and she/he specifically listed com1 = ttys0, com2 = ttys1, com3 =ttys2, etc.
and noted that Linux doesn't have a 4 com port limit like MS does, which is
why that person was using Linux.
