I was surprised to find my wireless not working after I woke my laptop from
hibernate.
A notice came up on the screen asking for my password immediately after the
login, and I gave it without reading it.
That notice must have said something pretty ambiguous like "network requests
password" or I would have paid attention.

I spent about twenty minutes trying to connect anyway, and then reading help
with wireless networks, before I came across a notice
that windows sometimes turns off the wireless physically and Vista must be
booted to turn it back on.

I tried that with my fingers crossed, because I haven't booted Vista in
almost a year. Guess what?

When I rebooted into Ubuntu the wireless worked fine.
