I tried ffmpeg (running Ubuntu 8.10). It does not list .mp4, but does list mpeg4, as one of the formats. Trying to convert I get an error "Unable to find a suitable output format for ..."
So I tried plain ole mpeg ... no error, seemed to churn right along, at least for the first 12,000 frames or so. Then started getting error messages "AC EOB marker is absent pos=[various numbers]", and then it finished, leaving me with a 3GB file with ... *sigh* ... no audio. The mpeg video created with kino has flawless audio, just grainy video. Any other suggestions?
