I have never heard of them running on a VM. I'd imagine the kernels are compiled with only the bare minimums to run the hardware so I doubt a VM would work. Heck, I don't even know how to extract the filesystem from the binary firmware image.
I used to be a DD-WRT fan but I switched to Tomato about 6 months ago after using DD-WRT for years. I've noticed that Tomato is much more stable and much speedier (for me). I used to have to reboot my DD-WRT every other week or so and when I switched to Tomato I started noticing connections much faster than I was used to. Either way they offer much more than a standard Linksys firmware. Be aware though, some of the newer routers (at least used to) not be upgradable so make sure you verify that the model AND version are compatible. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Central West End Linux Users Group (via Google Groups) Main page: http://www.cwelug.org To post: [email protected] To subscribe: [email protected] To unsubscribe: [email protected] More options: http://groups.google.com/group/cwelug -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
