Yup.  They are all trying to protect their pipes.

But as far as I can tell, Apple only rejected the iPhone app.  You can
still use Google Voice to send calls by calling your own Google Voice
account and then dialing the destination number.  And you can still
receive calls via Google Voice's call forwarding feature.

FWIW, I think Google Voice is a wonderful service.  I have it forward
incoming calls to my cell phone and Skype so that one number reaches
me anywhere.  And the only reason for the Skype is that there is no
Skype client equivalent on the PC for Google Voice (or is there?).
