I ran it for A4 and A5 back to Mac OS X now though so I'll just be running A6 in a VM.
As far as the boot time mentioned (24 sec) that is mostly due to Ext 4 which you could be using on 9.04 it just wasn't default. The new boot screen stuff will probably be cool when it's all done but right now it's pretty lame. Same goes for the Ubuntu SoftwareStore but the "store" won't be finished for several revisions of Ubuntu. Some other changes I've noticed: * GNOME is removing icons in a lot of places, e.g. buttons, app categories. * The themes for boot loader will be cool when they are all finished. * More positive changes to the trackpad preferences, integrated multi-touch scrolling. * I'm sick of the default theme, Dust (included) is interesting as is an external project called gnome-colors. * Boot is quicker but still nothing fantastic, just not bad. Unrelated to Ubuntu: * Skype has a new beta that supports PulseAudio. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Central West End Linux Users Group (via Google Groups) Main page: http://www.cwelug.org To post: [email protected] To subscribe: [email protected] To unsubscribe: [email protected] More options: http://groups.google.com/group/cwelug -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
