Here's my script for downloading via bittorrent: tors="http://releases.ubuntu.com/9.10/ubuntu-9.10-alternate-amd64.iso.torrent http://releases.ubuntu.com/9.10/ubuntu-9.10-alternate-i386.iso.torrent http://releases.ubuntu.com/9.10/ubuntu-9.10-desktop-amd64.iso.torrent http://releases.ubuntu.com/9.10/ubuntu-9.10-desktop-i386.iso.torrent http://releases.ubuntu.com/9.10/ubuntu-9.10-server-amd64.iso.torrent http://releases.ubuntu.com/9.10/ubuntu-9.10-server-i386.iso.torrent " wget $tors rtorrent *.torrent
I set it up in a screen session and am now just waiting. Download speeds are ok, but not great (<20KB/s each). You'd think with a large number of simultaneous downloaders, speeds would be faster. Maybe I haven't set up sharing correctly.
