How can I tell what filesystem is on a partition? fdisk tells me what the partition table thinks it is, but now what it may really be. file doesn't seem to quite work, either. For example:
$ sudo file -s /dev/sda5 /dev/sda5: x86 boot sector; GRand Unified Bootloader, stage1 version 0x3, 1st sector stage2 0x8dfebe1, code offset 0x48 Any thoughts?
