How to:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/firefox-stable
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
Do it. Firefox4 is so much more responsive in Ubuntu than vers. 3.x.
Or if you really want to install it via Synaptic, go to the software
sources and then other sources
and add ppa:mozillateam/firefox-stable
