We had a couple of client's servers go down, but none lost data that
we are aware of.

For most of those that went down, it wasn't a big deal because they
had a failover strategy (either a different region or a different
hosting service) or they only had non-critical functions on EC2.  For
the handful for whom it was a big deal, they learned an important
lesson -- the one with a basket and eggs.
