A friend of mine gave me his older Droid device. It does 3G/4G, wifi, and bluetooth. But since it doesn't have a data plan its most useful connectivity feature is wifi. And I've already got a 3G/4G card for my netbook.
Recently, my home's DSL service decided to stop working, which meant every wifi-enable laptop couldn't get on the internet. Solution: setup a reverse tether (may not be quite the right term) where the droid acted as a wifi hotspot, but all internet-bound traffic was routed through the netbook: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s120/sh/8d4703b8-efa4-463a-a294-939337c777c1/06692f0c7e83a3af87e118164afd4c0f Regards, - Robert -- Central West End Linux Users Group (via Google Groups) Main page: http://www.cwelug.org To post: [email protected] To subscribe: [email protected] To unsubscribe: [email protected] More options: http://groups.google.com/group/cwelug
