While reviewing membership requests just now, I noticed a request from [email protected] (check it out, the request is generic, the site all-mail-archive.com is there, but I don't see any references to it anywhere, and no "about this site" links on the site)
Has anyone else heard of this site? Looks like someone's attempt to archive all postings on discussion groups. Don't know why it would be helpful, unless a group's server goes away. The google-groups site IMHO would be unlikely to go away any time soon. Is there any reason you can think of to allow this site to archive our postings? (I'm guessing you can come up with plenty of reasons not to) Looks like it's a way of accumulating [sometimes or mostly] legitimate communications, and turning it into spam. Even though there's a way to search the site, and it's probably indexed by the search engines, I'm not coming up with any practical applications. --Don Ellis On Sat, Feb 25, 2012 at 2:33 AM, Google Groups <[email protected]>wrote: > drameshnsit <[email protected]> requested to join the Central > West End Linux Users Group <http://groups.google.com/group/cwelug> group > and is awaiting approval. > > You can approve or > reject<http://groups.google.com/group/cwelug/pending?hl=en>this request. > > If you have questions related to this or any other Google group, please > visit the Help Center <http://groups.google.com/support?hl=en&src=email>. > [image: Visit Google Groups] > <https://groups.google.com/?src=email&hl=en> > > Start <http://groups.google.com&src=email&hl=en> your own group or > report<http://groups.google.com/groups/abuse?src=email&invite=&hl=en>abuse. > -- Central West End Linux Users Group (via Google Groups) Main page: http://www.cwelug.org To post: [email protected] To subscribe: [email protected] To unsubscribe: [email protected] More options: http://groups.google.com/group/cwelug
