I have done it myself numerous times without any difficulty. If you are using the same Linux distribution and version you should have no difficulty at all.
I have no idea of how it compares to PyInstaller on Linux. Maybe someone else here can help you out on that front. If you run into any difficulties, post here and I'll try to help you out.
