I came across this problem in December. After having finally figured out the problem, I posted my findings on : http://groups.google.com/group/comp.lang.python/browse_thread/thread/42b06fe9b488fba1/27568c707a139558?lnk=gst&q=jefm#27568c707a139558
this gives a little more background information. Hope this helps Jef -----Original Message----- From: Eric Brunel [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, July 03, 2009 12:34 AM To: primary discussion list for use and development of cx_Freeze Subject: Re: [cx-freeze-users] Problems with Python 2.6, cx_freeze and Server 2003 On 24 févr. 09, at 19:43, Anthony Tuininga wrote: > Hi, > > Congratulations. Sorry to resurrect an old post, but it seems we're having the same problem with one of our freezed executables: it refuses to run with the same kind of error message about the 'side by side configuration' and installing the VS redistributable makes it work. The problem is that I can't figure out what 3 DLLs you're talking about, and have no idea what a 'manifest' can be. I was also wondering if these DLLs could be included in our distribution, if you have any idea about it. It's pretty annoying to have to tell everyone who wants to use our product they have to install something from Microsoft just to be able to run it.
