That did it! This is good in simple case of accessing a single service. (I found a good discussion at http://jroller.com/openInfrastructure/ Eoghan Glynn's blog search for "Why is java.net.Authenticator so lame?" on the page) But that is not CXF problem, but rather java.net.Authenticator's.
