I searched the messages but couldn't find what I was looking for so please forgive me if I am asking questions previously addressed; I'm sure I simply didn't search on the right word.
I recently designed my first board, an 18XX game with the following properties (if it would be easier to simply download the board and look at it that way, let me know): - hex (flat up) - rows 11 - cols 14 - cell height 105 - cell width 122 - x offset 44 (***) - y offset 26 (***) - cells: AA1, rows on left ***I have tried various offset combinations to no discernible effect. When my mouse is in the upper left hand corner, I look down in the lower right hand corner to the system tray of the software and I see A1. When I move the mouse up and down, it identifies it as Column 1 without fail. I move it left and right, no problem, Column 1, Column 2, Column 3 ... all the way to Column 14, no problem. THE FIRST PROBLEM is with the rows. When I move the mouse up and down, I get A1, but I don't get B1 until I'm in the hex that should be C1; by the time I get to V1, it shows up as K1 (a 2-to-1 ratio). Any idea what I'm doing wrong? The designer of another 18xx set I am in possession of, also hex flat up, had the same problem and he doesn't know how to fix it either. THE SECOND PROBLEM is that I would like to get this to the point where I can enable the snap grid and actually have it work, but for now, I'd simply be happy with the xy coordinates showing up properly. In closing I should note this was built by hand, not with an imported image or map. I am willing to scrap it if necessary, but am hoping it doesn't come to that. Thanks for your assistance and patience. Christopher
