You may be right about the propensity of your target
audience not to be connected with the newspaper, but
don't forget the free exposure via press releases.
Don't overlook office application and other
non-gameing "older" users either. If you are any good
at web development, you can do your own marketing on
the net. (I understand that many of your clients may
not have PCs at home.) However, the web is an awesome
marketing tool if used right (I'm sure Ray would
agree...) and may do a lot for you. Make sure your
signage and visability is adequate and powerful too.
Include your URL on all advertiseing elements,
includeing business cards, posters, and brochures.
Consider an add that reads "www.<insert your url
here>.
Sponcer some high visability things in the area (like
the local highschool yearbook "which would be a
perfect target for your www.com mention") You can also
provide a web page for civic groups like the boy &
girl scouts, fire & E.M.S., Rotery & Lions clubs,
Knoghts of Columbus, Schriners, etc., with a
"sponcered by:" component to it. That's a great way to
do something for others, get advertiseing, and great
P.R., all in one shot. HTML isn't always rocket
science and web hosting is plentiful for free or a
very well spent $10-$20 a month. You may (or between a
group of freinds) even have all the space you need
free with your ISP account(s)if you keep your pages
lean. Many servers would donate a bit of space for
such civic groups under the same stratagey and you may
even be able to team up with your ISP on the projects
to double your recognition though dual branding.

Pick up a few of those garilla marketing books and get
creative & strategic.
Good luck with your efforts.
