Viral marketing?
Sounds very much like MLM on the internet.
Some people did well with MLM, most did not.

Maybe I'm just cynical, but unless a company owns (freehold) a building, bricks and
mortar mean nothing.
Remember L'arome?? Echoes??? Huge buildings and warehouses one day, gone the next.
I personally, would err on the side of caution.

Subject: [cc] I need some avice about being involved with this...

If the more experienced people here could give me some
advice as to whither I should be involved with this
thing or not, please let me know. I've gone to their
office here in Greenville, and it will cost me $200 a
year membership fees to be in it. There's more than
just the money, but the investment of my time (and I
think there must be a time leak in the universe or
something...) I'm uneasy about this kind of thing
except that they have a real, physical, brick and
morter office here and I spoke with the manager face
to face. Has anybody heard anything about these
people? Should I be worried, or does it look ok?

Me:

Good news: I just installed ZoneAlarm and it seems to
work as far as I know. ...at least my system seems not
to have choked on it.

Also is it apropriate to use a "sig." here (and in
mailing lists in general) like they do in newsgroups?
Hey you know...a schedualed FAQ would be cool...

I appreciate the help guys. I really don't know anyone
that I know and trust to be qualified enough to advise
me on this. I apologise that it's off topic. I'll make
it up to you-all. (I can say you-all now, now that I
live in the south.)

By the way, yahoo sent me a nice little thank-you for
reporting some of the spam that has gotten sent to us
on the list advertiseing cars and junk in html
e-mails. It really does help to use the abuse thing
instead of writeing back with a retort or complaint
about it if you use abuse@ wisely.

I hope you're all doing well.
Warm regards,(it IS warm down here)
Brian Frasier.
