Get a bundle of maching NICs (ethernet boards) and put
them in your machines. Use a hub/switch/router to
connect them. You probably already have a NIC in the
machine hooked up to ADSL. Use that one as your server
and run a proxy on it to serve to/from the rest of
your little do-it-yourself network. (or NAT?) I
recomend a firewall also if you are useing ADSL.
(Apparently the warez kiddies play around too long on
their computers to work and earn money enough for
their own fast connection. They would much rather
steal access to yours.)
Zone Alarm seems to work well, but I'm a novice, so I
can't guarentee...
Anyone know how to find out what all those TCP port
numbers are? I'd be interested in what these jokers
are trying to do. I only have a dial-up & it's not
even a 56K MODEM... :-(
