the way it works is....................
The update site uses ActiveX controls to check what software is installed on
your computer in order to provide you with a correct list of updates and
other software you may want to download - it is not a requirement to send
private files to MS as you suggest.
If that is not what you meant then you need to be clear in the original
mail.
In fact if you run the update it explicitly states it is done without
sending any information to Microsoft
can this be the end of this thread please, this list should really be used
for an open forum slanging match but passing or requesting factual
information
