Well,

I got my issue of Broadband Wireless Business today. It has an article in
it about Mobilestar, "which specializes in providing broadband wireless
acces to 'hot spot' locations such as airports," and how they have won over
Starbucks Coffee Co. as a customer. It goes on to say how Starbucks,
MobileStar and Microsoft Corp. will be working together to bring a
high-speed, connected environment in Starbucks locations across North
America by deploying a series of public-access wireless LANs beginning in
late Spring.

It also talks about how "This 'one of a kind' national wireless broadband
network gives Starbucks a unique position in the landscape of retailers."

Other points that the article talks about is how "On-going infrastructure
enhancements will support improved labor scheduling, planning, and training
as well as provide a platform for initiatives such as the launch of a
Starbucks customer card that will speed up in-store ordering and payment and
the capability for customers to preorder drinks over their cellular phones."
Now, can they not just dial the number and tell the person what drink they
want anyway? DUH!

Couldn't find the actual article on the net, but got some links proving this
partnership anyway...
