I think I know what you are talking about. I have been in many different
businesses and there is usually a program that is specificaly designed for
that type of operation.
In the businesses that I have worked in and where we could not find an
affordable software point of sale program, we used Keystroke POS. It is an
awesome point of sale program that allows you to enter your own inventory
items and it will even do the invoicing and monthly statements for you. You
can have a customer database for on account receivable and it can even be
interated with some of the popular full accounting programs. It is kind of
like Quicken but it is MUCH MUCH easier to use. It can even manage your
clerks and what they have access to. Look at it and try it. After all, it
is just a suggestion.
