We shouldn't be promoting Amazon as last
time I got several messages about their support of
anti-gun organisations.
[...]
This is simply not true.
I have contacted Amazon twice on this issue,
and was informed both times that what their program
amounts to is merely sponsoring different organizations
through their own web sites, and this includes PRO firearms
sites as well.
Just because they take the middle road in their
business endeavor is no reason to hang them up to dry.
The way their system works is that if you go to
a certain web site, and select Amazon.com as the preferred
site to purchase a book from, Amazon will deliver a portion
of that sale to the site that linked itself to their own site.
I suppose we would like for all book sellers to
avoid any connection to antis, but that is being a bit
unrealistic, and amounts to stuffing our politics (no matter
how right we are) down other's throats.
I should also point out that Barnes & Nobel does
the very same thing. So, where do we get our books from now?
