The Scottish Daily mail today highlighted rock steady
Edinburgh Uni Student Joanna Hossaks shooting at Bisley. It
has been 70 years since a woman won the prestigious
prize in rifle shooting. At the NRA's camp at Bisley the 20
year old became only second woman to lift the coveted Queens
prize in it's 140 year history. Miss Hossack a first year student,
fired a perfect bullseye with her last shot (would not like to upset
her), and beat 1,700 competitors from all over the world including her
father David, himself an accomplished marksman. The last woman to
win was Marjorie Foster in 1930 when she was 37 and won the Queens
gold medal with an impressive display of shooting, police had to be
called in to control the crowd. The prize sum of L250 still
remains the same as it did in Queen Victoria's time.

The article is well written and quite good, I was surprised. On the
other hand in Scotland today a report on the amount of FAC's and
people applying for shotguns went up slightly but was off set by
250 being revoked, they should have said that they were a part of
a political wing of the NRA.

By the way how do you become a member of a political wing, might
come in handy when the man from the TV licensing knocks on the door.
