I research at lot from Edinburgh and a good source is
[EMAIL PROTECTED] They will find out what document
you are looking for and put you in the right direction.
If they can get hold of a document they will send you an
e-mail with the information. The only draw back doing it
this way is it takes up to 5 weeks. Remember to fill out
your e-mail in triplicate.
Reference to INTERNET:[EMAIL PROTECTED] , I fell foul
to my local Chief Constable, when I was at sea I used to
send my shotgun certificate, cheque, 4 photos (signed by
the Captain) back home to the local nick. I had been
doing this for 20 years, same as my FAC. When the local
nick regonalised it was all done at Pitt Street Glasgow. I
sent off the above, and after a week or so received a
letter back from the Chief Constable to say that I could
not apply for a shotgun as I had not stated where to shoot,
and I had to prove to him that I was a good egg. I could
not believe what I was reading, I had sent in my old
certificate, renewal form, 4 photos and the cash, and I
had been renewing for 20 years, yet this idiot thought
I was applying for a certificate. This led me to have in
my possession a shot without a valid certificate, and as
I would be away for 6 months one thing lead to another
and I was charged with having a shotgun without a
certificate. There is obviously more to this story but
some of these idiots just don't have a clue.
