On the subject of the UN, you should all be aware that the Home Office has gotten an article inserted in the draft protocol on firearms, (which you can see at: http://www.cybershooters.org/PDFdocs/UN protocol.pdf) that would effectively ban deactivated firearms. The protocol includes an article, Article 10, that requires deactivated firearms to be deactivated so that they cannot be reactivated "in any way". In addition there is no grandfather clause so it would appear to apply to all deactivated guns. Obviously any deactivated firearm can be reactivated with enough time and effort, I have therefore made submissions to the Home Office that the language be revised so that it says that a deactivated firearm is any firearm which cannot be reactivated without the use of specialised knowledge and tools. They appear to be trying to ignore me, so it would help if you could all write to Graham Widdecombe, the head of the Firearms Section, at: Home Office, 50 Queen Anne's Gate, London, SW1H 9AT and point this out to him politely. I think his email address is: [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can also try writing to Richard Worth at the same address and ask him to refer the matter to the Firearms Consultative Committee. Mr Worth's email address is: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Steve.
