What were the Swedes doing in the Congo? I thought
they had been neutral for at least 60 years?

Yes, we had Swedish UN troops fighting in Kongo 1961-63.
It was also the only time swedish airforce pilots been in battle.
They were flying the famous Saab J29 "Flying Barrel"
