Having fired tracer on battlefield ETR ranges I have noticed
that, on occation, the tracer element has detached from the
main bullet and gone off in some very interesting directions.
Having shot the first target the tracer went off in one
direction and some piece of the bullet went on for a second
target, a shoot-through. This has happened on several
occasions and to quite a few club members who were also shooting
tracer. This is why, IMHO, tracer should be prohibited from
ranges that the general public can overlook. It
can give a false impression of riccochets.

Matt.
